The biggest of the Iowa casinos is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, a Native American casino in Tama, with 127,669 sq.ft. of gambling room, 1,500 slot machines, 30 table games, like chemin de fer, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and numerous varieties of poker; including 3 restaurants, bimonthly productions, and betting instructions. A further large Indian gambling hall is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 square feet, 668 slot machines, and fourteen table games. Additionally, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 slots, 36 table games, and four restaurants. There are several other dominant Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 slot machines, and 39 table games.
A tinier Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a paddle wheel boat casino in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 slots, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend Riverboat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 slots, and 14 table games. An additional Iowa water based casino, The Isle of Capri, is open all hours, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 one armed bandits, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. paddle wheel boat casino in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live shows, and Thursday blackjack matches.
Iowa casinos present a great deal of tax money to the government of Iowa, which has allowed the funding of many commonwealth wide projects. Tourism has increased at a fast rate along with the demand for processors and an increase in employment. Iowa gambling halls have contributed to the advancement of the market, and the affection for gaming in Iowa is widespread.
