    When most persons give thought to choosing to work in the gaming industry they often think of the dealers and casino employees. it is only natural to envision this way because those workers are the ones out front and in the public eye. Interestingly though, the gambling arena is more than what you can see on the betting floor.     Salaries will vary by establishment and area. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) numbers show that full time gaming managers got a median annual amount of $46,820 in 1999. The lowest ten per cent earned less than $26,630, and the highest 10 % earned more than $96,610.

    Gaming supervisors oversee gaming operations and personnel in an assigned area. Circulating among the tables, they make sure that all stations and games are manned for each shift. It also is accepted for supervisors to interpret the casino’s operating codes for members. Supervisors can also plan and arrange activities for guests staying in their casino hotels.

    Gaming supervisors must have leadership qualities and great communication skills. They need these abilities both to supervise staff excellently and to greet patrons in order to promote return visits. Almost all casino supervisory staff have an associate or bachelor’s degree. No matter their their educational background, however, most supervisors gain expertise in other gaming occupations before moving into supervisory areas because an understanding of games and casino operations is important for these employees.
